Well, the answer is why not? I could go over all the health benefits of exercise, but that's being a bit redundant. I just want to share why I'm working out and new reasons to workout.
#1 It's fun.
I know it sounds a bit different, but I like working out. If that's what I could do all day and get paid for it, I would. Sharing that knowledge and helping others (especially children) along that road is so much fun and gratifying.
#2 There's always something I can learn.
Just a couple of years ago, I "discovered" calisthenics and did them exclusively for nearly a year and I was just as strong (if not stronger) than when I lifted weights. Now, I am working on handbalancing. Specifically learning the handstand. In a couple of days I'll write down what my workouts consist of and hopefully a video to accompany it. Also kettlebell juggling is always a learning experience. Always a new trick to learn. :-)
Here's the new reason for me to work out: Mind expansion.
I have seen many people at the gym (when I was going to a gym), that just mindlessly go through their workouts. I have done the same thing and I still do on occasion. I now like to work on stilling my mind and just focusing on the task at hand. No music to distract me, no video playing on the TV. Just me and the exercise. Since do things for time, mostly, it really helps me to be centered when holding a stand or kettlebell.
Just wanted to share and I hope you go something out of it.
