was sick for a few days, but back at it again. doing 10 minutes bike, 30 minutes elliptical, and 5 minutes bike. eating habits slumped a bit over the weekend, but getting back on track.

Thanks Nicki! Second week in, consistent with workouts, up to 10 minutes stationary bike, 30 minutes elliptical, 5 minutes bike. Besides Memorial Day, I have been doing well with diet.

I've noticed that keeping a journal not only helps me feel better and stay on track, but it also gives others inspiration. Keep it up Jack!

Bought a Gazelle Freestyle Elliptical machine, delivered last Friday. Put it together on Sunday, and spent about 15-20 minutes on it (was wiped out from the "work-out" of putting it together!). Yesterday and today I did 30 minutes on it. I've also…

I understand what you mean! This cold weather is awful for new exercise plans! For now, I'm making sure that I watch what I eat and don't snack late. It's hard though!

getting back in gear

Bought a Gazelle Freestyle Elliptical machine, delivered last Friday. Put it together on Sunday, and spent about 15-20 minutes on it (was wiped out from the "work-out" of putting it together!). Yesterday and today I did 30 minutes on it.

meal planning & stairs

tomorrow I'll venture out early to the public market for fresh fruits and veggies, maybe pick up some fish from the monger and chicken sausage from the butcher.

had Pho for lunch, and poached tilapia with steamed veggies and white rice for supper.

did a lot of up & down the stairs today. weather was nice but I didn't get out to walk. I'll spend a little more time than needed walking around the market tomorrow.

Regarding nutrition:

In order to cut down on the amount of food I cook for supper each night we bought a Seal-A-Meal and package enough food per bag for two servings. Picking up more fresh and frozen vegetables at the market, and trying to make potatoes with less butter and milk. Baking bread with no extra fat and more whole grains. Remembering to eat breakfast!
