Hi Dave - I am right there with you. Turning 45 in 8 months and I can't take my health and fitness for granted any longer. I was very athletic through my twenties and early thirties but the sedentary lifestyle that comes from sitting in front of a computer all day, then catching up with home chores and plopping in front of the TV, I have not made the time to get fit. The time is now!

90 x .5 years old

As I start this post, I'm 44. When I finish it, I'll be 45. Halfway to 90. One of those mental milestones for me. In-fact, it's one of the reasons I'm here.

So...

Today I jumped on this elliptical twice. Once before work and once after all the natives zonked out for the night.

I want to really try and use this community to fall into the quick surge in exercise activity of Christmas' Past. I started back on the elliptical on 1221 when I joined you here. I took off Christmas and day after. Looking forward to lots of bustling activity here on Twit2Fit, it's first post holiday!

That's IT.

On this Winter Solstice Day I promise to quit lurking weight loss stuff and join the conversation and start sweating some pounds.

I have landed, with a huge thud. It wasn't a quake, it was me jumping into the conversation.

I'm one of those types that can NOT do a diet. None. What works for me, is working out. I must be physical, the eating thing just takes care of itself.

At my disposal are fields, a bicycle around hilly roads, and a nice elliptical machine.
